Afterpage

Privacy

Afterpage is a small project by David Lee. Replies to any email go to his inbox.

What we collect. Your email address, the book you asked for, and when each email was sent. Nothing else about you in the email list. No tracking pixels in emails.

Cookies on the site. The home page sets two first-party cookies, both for 90 days: ap_v records which version of the home page you were shown (we test three designs), and ap_vid is a random ID that is not linked to you or your email. It lets us count unique visitors instead of page loads. If you sign up, the version you saw, the page you landed on, where you came from (the referring site and any utm_ tags in the link) are saved on your subscriber record, so we can tell which version and which links bring in readers. While you browse, your browser also keeps that landing information in session storage until you close the tab.

No third parties. No Google Analytics, no advertising or social trackers, no third-party cookies. Visits and events are counted by our own server.

Opting out. Block or delete cookies for getafterpage.com in your browser settings; the site works the same without them. You can also add ?v=a to the home page address to view it with no cookie and no counting.

What we do with it. Send you the seven emails you asked for. We don’t sell or share your address.

Who handles it. Vercel hosts the site and stores subscriber records. Resend delivers the email.

Stopping. Every email has a one-click link. After you stop, we keep your address and book so you aren’t signed up again by accident. To have it deleted, reply to any email and say so.
