The week
| Day 1 | Read the summary. Five key ideas and where the book overreaches. |
| Day 2 | Write your money history. Write down three money lessons you learned before age 20, and where each came from. Bad day: Write one sentence: “Growing up, I learned that money is...” |
| Day 3 | Define enough. Write down what “enough” would look like for you in specific terms: monthly spending, savings, and the things you'd stop chasing. Bad day: Write one number: the monthly income that would feel like enough. |
| Day 4 | Find the money you don't see. Look at last month's spending and mark every purchase made mainly to be seen by other people. Bad day: Check the last five purchases on your card and mark any bought to impress. |
| Day 5 | Price your time. Write down how many months you could live if your income stopped tomorrow, and one step that would add a month. Bad day: Estimate your runway in months, roughly, and write it down. |
| Day 6 | Build in room for error. Set up one automatic transfer to savings, of any size, that happens without you deciding each time. Bad day: Open your banking app and find where to set up a recurring transfer. |
| Day 7 | Write your reasonable plan. Write a half-page money plan you could stick with for ten years, even if it's not mathematically perfect. Bad day: Write three rules you'll follow with money for the next year. |
