The week
| Day 1 | Read the summary. Five key ideas and where the book overreaches. |
| Day 2 | Sort last month into four buckets. Use last month's statements to estimate how much of your take-home pay went to each of Sethi's four buckets. Bad day: Add up your rent and regular bills and write what share of your pay they take. |
| Day 3 | Name what you love and what you don't. Write down three things you're happy to spend a lot on and three you could cut hard without missing them. Bad day: Write one thing you love spending on and one you'd happily cut. |
| Day 4 | Cancel one thing you don't care about. Cancel or downgrade one recurring charge from yesterday's cut list. Bad day: Find one subscription on your statement and open its cancel page. |
| Day 5 | Automate one transfer. Schedule one automatic transfer for the day after payday into savings or a goal you named this week. Bad day: Open your banking app and find the screen for recurring transfers. |
| Day 6 | Make one call and ask. Call one company you pay every month and ask for a lower rate or a waived fee. Bad day: Look up the customer service number for one bill and save it in your phone. |
| Day 7 | Write your one-page plan. Write your Conscious Spending Plan on one page with a target percentage for each bucket. Bad day: Write your four buckets with one rough percentage next to each. |
