The week
| Day 1 | Read the summary. Five key ideas and where the book overreaches. |
| Day 2 | Empty your head. Spend 15 minutes writing down every open loop in your life, one per line, without sorting. Bad day: Write down the ten things most on your mind right now. |
| Day 3 | Find the next action. Go through yesterday's list and write the next physical action for at least ten items. Bad day: Pick one item and write its next action as a verb sentence. |
| Day 4 | Make a projects list. List every outcome you're committed to that takes more than one step. Bad day: Write five projects you're currently committed to. |
| Day 5 | Sort actions by context. Split your next actions into lists by where or with what you can do them. Bad day: Make one context list, like Calls, with three actions on it. |
| Day 6 | Set up a someday list. Move everything you're not committed to doing soon onto a Someday/Maybe list. Bad day: Move three items you won't do this month onto a Someday list. |
| Day 7 | Do your first weekly review. Spend 20 minutes reviewing all your lists, calendar, and inboxes, and update them. Bad day: Check that each project on your list has one next action. |
