The week
| Day 1 | Read the summary. Five key ideas and where the book overreaches. |
| Day 2 | Build an accountability mirror. Write three honest sticky notes, one goal and two excuses you use, and put them on your bathroom mirror. Bad day: Write one honest sentence about an excuse you use and stick it on the mirror. |
| Day 3 | Fill your cookie jar. Write a list of at least five times you got through something hard, with one line on what each one proved. Bad day: Write down two hard things you got through and what they proved. |
| Day 4 | Do one hard thing on purpose. Pick one small, safe discomfort you'd normally avoid and do it today. Bad day: Do the uncomfortable thing that takes the least time, like the call or the cold rinse. |
| Day 5 | Go past the first “I'm done”. During a task you find hard today, physical or mental, keep going for five more minutes after you first want to stop. Bad day: Next time you want to stop something today, do two more minutes. |
| Day 6 | Write an after-action report. Pick one recent failure and write a review of what went well, what went wrong, and what you'll do differently next time. Bad day: Write one line each: what went well, what went wrong, what changes next time. |
| Day 7 | Set a goal that scares you. Write one goal for the next three months that's well beyond your comfort zone, put it on the mirror, and do the first piece today. Bad day: Write the goal on a sticky note and put it on the mirror. |
